An Update from South Africa

by Amedeo Salamoni

Spent the day with my group in Filia School. This school is for learners with physical and mental disabilities. Our group worked with Filia students learning music for a marching band performance later in the week.

South Africa

Today the kids spent the whole day with their host families. They all met last night and hit it off right away. Most, if not all, families spent the morning at church. Then they went to the beach or other local attractions. We don’t have pictures to share today.

Tomorrow we head out to get acquainted with community leaders that have helped organize our service projects. We’ve checked in with kids today and they are settling in well. We are off to a great start so far. Tomorrow is an orientation day. Then the hard work begins. And it’ll be really hard work most of our days. This is what we are here for.
