Arizona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I can look in any direction on any street corner and see something interesting and humbling—from the small townhouses to the towering great plateaus, everything seems different and exciting. We arrived later in the afternoon on Sunday and had dinner in a hotel diner ran by the Navajo people. Everybody enjoyed their dinner, and we all were very happy to be off the road and in a position of relaxation. But the next morning, it was back to what we came to do—service. The kids and their teachers seem amazingly kind and unconditionally curious, and I don’t think any one of us can wait to become more accustomed to the rich and inviting Navajo reservation in Kayenta, Arizona.
