It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Applications have been read, accepted students have been celebrated, and now it’s time to welcome the new students of George School!
George School enjoyed a record high number of applications, a 14 percent increase over last year’s total, which meant difficult choices as the admission committee selected among many qualified students.
Here are some fun facts about the students who will be enrolling this fall:
Twenty-six new students have a first name beginning with the letter A. (Second place is J with a mere eighteen.)
Most common middle names are Elizabeth, James, and Michael.
Countries represented include Ghana, Belgium, the Cayman Islands, Spain, Jamaica, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.
States represented include Arkansas, California, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Texas.
Students hail from over fifty different schools.
Most-mentioned books: The Fault in Our Stars and anything to do with Divergent.
Passions include Sherlock Holmes, Quaker camp, mixed martial arts, goat club, collecting hubcaps, learning Korean, botany, poetry, modern dance, Rubik’s cube, playing the harp, building computers, volleyball, soap making, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barbra Streisand.
We can’t wait to welcome our soap-making, goat-loving, John Green-reading new students to campus this August!
